Throughout my career, I'm often asked for book recommendations - Jamil, what book or books did you read to get you where you are today?
What books are you reading now to stay there?
I am a big proponent of knowledge being power and the more knowledge you have, the more powerful you are to tackle life, love, and everything in between. While books can only take you so far in life, they are a fantastic foundation to build upon.
And today I’ve got some AWESOME book recommendations for you!
Here are 3 books I think can help you the MOST no matter where you are on your real estate journey.
1. You Are A Badass by Jen Sincero
You Are A Badass is a self-help book for people who don’t like self-help books. If you’ve ever struggled to get through one, then this is the book for you.
The first thing I love about this book is that the chapters are super short so you can read one in just a few minutes and focus on the lessons in it for the rest of the day. The second thing I like about this book is that it’s funny!
You’ll laugh, you’ll cry and you’ll learn some helpful tools for fixing your life.
2. Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
Written in 1937, Think and Grow Rich is the OG book on success. As the story goes, Hill wanted to figure out what made the most successful people, well...successful.
Per the instructions coming from Andrew Carnegie, Hill was able to come up with 13 principles, habits, and thought patterns from those people.
This book is a fantastic look at how mindset and thoughts are driving points to being and becoming successful.
Mindset is of course a major point I highlight for my Astro students because having a good, positive mindset can do wonders when it comes to manifesting purpose and goals into reality.
3. The Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda
From mindset to meditation. If you've been reading the blog or you've seen any of the talks I've done, you know I'm a big believer in the benefits of meditation.
The Autobiography of a Yogi is both a memoir of an exceptional life and an introduction to yoga and meditation.
Selected as "One of the 100 Best Spiritual Books of the 20th Century", Yogananda's book has been translated into more than 50 languages and is regarded worldwide as a classic of religious literature.
If you’ve been wanting to learn more about yoga and meditation this is a great place to start!
There you have it, three of my favorite books, and three books that will benefit you no matter where you are in real estate and really in life.
Check them out and let me know what you think!
